Organic Insider is Switching to a Freemium Model -- Free and Premium

Hello Friends,

Delivering Organic Insider to your inbox each Wednesday over the past 20 months has been a real privilege. This industry is my true passion, and being able to provide analysis, commentary and news about organic food is a labor of love.

Yet, given the challenges that organic is facing, particularly those related to fraudulent imports and a lack of enforcement by the USDA, I feel that it is more critical than ever that people are informed about what is truly going on in our industry. The reality is that most people are unaware of exactly what is taking place.

So, in order for the message to reach a much bigger audience, I have decided to switch Organic Insider from a paid subscription model to a freemium model — free and premium.

What does this mean exactly?


– Weekly Organic Insider (to be published 46 weeks out of 52 weeks of the year)
– Access to the archives for the past three weeks


– Weekly Organic Insider (to be published 46 weeks out of 52 weeks of the year)
– Unlimited access to the archives
– News alerts
– Special quarterly report

The options for current subscribers

Given that we will be switching to the freemium model, current subscribers have one of two options.

1) You can stay as a paid subscriber, which means that you will become a premium subscriber. If that is your choice, no action is needed. You will automatically stay as a paid subscriber and billing will continue as normal.

2) You can switch to a free subscription. I will be offering pro rata refunds on yearly or monthly subscriptions to anyone who prefers this option. Please just fill out this contact form HERE and I will make the necessary adjustments.

If supporting organic food journalism is important to you, and you like the work that I am producing each week, I would be incredibly grateful if you stayed with the premium plan. Your support is vital in helping to support the mission of Organic Insider and raising awareness of our industry’s most important and pressing matters. 

As of now, the switch to the freemium model will be made next Wednesday, and my hope is that people will forward Organic Insider to their colleagues and share the newsletters on social media as much as possible.
