Some very unfortunate news to share with you today.
Ronnie Cummins, co-founder and international director of the Organic Consumers Association (OCA) and its international affiliates Via Organica (Mexico) and Regeneration International, has passed away due to cancer.
When I think of Ronnie, one word comes to mind — committed.
He was absolutely relentless and fearless when it came to advocating for organic, and Ronnie inspired an entire generation of activists and consumers to be equally as fierce in the fight to protect our precious food supply.
My relationship with Ronnie goes back many years.
In 2015, Vani Hari and I threw a fundraiser at Expo East in Baltimore to benefit Regeneration International, and whether it was GMO-labeling, GMO 2.0, regenerative organic agriculture or any other issue, Ronnie was always a true friend and ally. He was also very supportive of the work we do at Organic Insider.
This is an enormous loss for the industry, and we extend our sincere condolences to his personal and OCA family. He will be deeply missed.
